I am not the biggest fan of in-house advertising, but I think that a 4 page ad is still enough for most people. I think the majority of people would be happy to pay more for a larger ad. I think that you still get a good return on your investment. I also think that there are many companies out there that are willing to take a hit in the same way.
One of the reasons I think the 4 page ad is so effective is that it allows companies to provide you with a much smaller ad than they would if they had to fit it all in a 1 or 2 page ad. A small ad means a smaller advertising budget.
And the ad should work in a variety of sizes, too. It would be a little awkward to have a 20,000 word ad and then have to come back with a 12,500 word ad when people aren’t too interested in your company.
The idea is that the ad is much more important in the first place. It should be an ad that everyone should be paying attention to. This isn’t to say that you should spend all your money on a 100,000 word ad. You should spend a little bit on an introductory ad that shows you what you’re offering, and spend a little more on an eye-catching ad that will grab the attention of your prospective customers.
For this particular ad, I think the first thing you should do is decide on a maximum size ad. If you can get an ad of 1,000 words, and it only takes you 200 people to look at it and pay attention, then you should. If you decide that you can go bigger, you should. A good size ad is something people would be willing to read all the way through anyways.
