For those who don’t know, I’m a sucker for anything that gives me a sense of control over the outcome of a situation. This is why I can’t stand watching TV in front of the TV without the remote in hand. This is also why I like to watch TV with a big screen so I can see the whole picture, or see the whole picture I want to see.
The difference between an episode of TV and a movie is that the former is like reading a book and the latter is like playing a video game. When you watch TV with the remote in your hand, you get a sense of control over the outcome of a situation. This is because I normally use my left hand to point at things on my tv screen and then my right hand to play the game. Because I was too lazy to learn how to use my left hand to play games, I usually use my right hand, but not always. So I didn’t realize how this was possible until recently.
If you point to a webpage using your left hand, you can look at it almost as if you were looking at it from a distance. And because if you point to a webpage using your right hand, you can look at it almost as if you were looking at it from a distance. So this is a great way to get closer to a webpage than you would be able to by just looking at it a distance.
You could also use this to navigate to webpages you’ve already visited, or to websites you’ve visited and want to revisit later in the day. It’s actually a really easy trick to use. I’ve found it to work well with YouTube.
