While the new year may be far away, let’s make 2018 our year of self-awareness. Let’s start by acknowledging some of our own truths, and make 2018 our year of self-awareness.

Self-awareness, I would argue, is the key to happiness. In fact, it can be a big part of happiness. It may seem crazy to say that, but it is true. When we’re self-aware, we can make better decisions, we can recognize good intentions and bad, we can see the big picture and take action accordingly.
We can be more aware of our surroundings, and less dependent on the things outside our immediate surroundings. I’m not talking about being aware of the things that affect our happiness, I’m talking about being self-aware of how to be happy. That means being aware of our own actions, making sure we are doing what we want to do. It means seeing the big picture, and making sure the big picture is in alignment with our goals.
