If you could just paint your new home, you would have a hard time getting it in good shape. Painting is one of those things that seems to have homeowners pretty stumped. I think it is because painting your home is one of those things if you get wrong, you can’t really hide it. Paint covers a lot of the surface of your home’s interior and exterior, so it will obviously impact your decor.
Buying or building a new home, you would think would eliminate the paint stress, but it can actually be the very thing that causes it. Among the many decisions that a new homeowner has to make during construction, choosing paint colors can be the most difficult. I know this because I get asked a lot, plus the Google search terms “should I paint my new construction home?” is one of the most frequent ones that lead people to our website. It goes beyond just choosing colors.
Links are one of the three ranking factors in Google. So if you want your website’s pages to rank high in search, you will almost certainly need links. Google (and other search engines) look at links from other websites as “votes.” These votes help them identify which page on a given topic (out of thousands of similar ones) deserves to be ranking at the very top of the search results.

The problem is that the search engines are not so good at giving back links, so even if you get links, it’s unlikely that they’ll rank well. This is why a lot of SEO consultants advise against trying to link to your websites to boost their rankings. A lot of times the search engines get the impression that your website is the only one that has a lot of links to backlinks.
It turns out that Google is pretty good at ranking websites. However, they are not as good at ranking links. This is because Google only focuses on the links between the webpages on a given page. Links that exist elsewhere, such as on a backlink, are ignored.
The SEO consultant I was referring to is really just a salesman, but he is very good at selling you on the idea that only he, and the search engine, can increase your links. He also suggests that you only link to relevant websites and don’t link to sites you find on Google. He will also tell you that if you do link to your website, it’s important to use unique (meaning no one has linked to it before) links.
I don’t know if that’s a valid advice you should take. I am only one of the three guys who has a lot of experience with Google ranking and ranking and I’m sure that some people on Google are just as convinced as I am. My experience is that Google does things differently than search engines, and in fact the search engine actually does a better job at ranking on Google than it does on search results.
Just because your site doesn’t have a link doesn’t mean it has a link. You need to know that it’s not exactly a complete search engine, and it won’t find you. A link is a link that contains elements of the content you want to link to, and any other elements that are not included in links are not covered by the search results. Link building means that search results are only allowed to use elements of the content you want to link to.
The problem with link building is that it’s very hard to know what elements are going to be in the context of your link. Your link gets very much about who you are, and it will be in context with other links on your site. So if your link is just about “good design” you may find that the results for good design are just a link to your home page.
