I think campaigns should be separated because you don’t want to confuse your customers. In fact, I always advocate campaigns be separated because you can’t really know if your customer is confused, not sure what to do, doesn’t want to buy, not sure what the campaign is trying to accomplish, or not sure what your goal is.

Just because you dont know what your customer wants, but you have a very specific idea of what he needs, doesn’t mean you dont know what he is going to do.

Yes, I’m aware of that. But just because you dont know what your customer wants, doesnt mean you dont know what he is going to do. You just need to do a little bit of research.

The only message that you can really get from the campaign is where you are not sure about what the campaign is trying to accomplish. If the campaigns are trying to do something different, you might as well just get a little more specific.

I just have to say that the marketing campaigns are so hard to separate from each other. They are so much alike. The way you are trying to connect with your customers is so similar. And because its so similar, it gets really hard for you to figure out what to do once the campaign ends. If you want to have a campaign that is tied to a specific event, you need to think about a campaign that will work for that event.

For example, if you have a campaign that is supposed to generate email addresses for a local pizza place, what should your goal be? Your goal should be to get people to visit the place. If you want people to buy pizzas, you need to think about a different objective.
